Rebuy Tournaments

We've all had that feeling after going broke early in a tournament; the feeling that we wish we could buy more chips and try again. Well in a rebuy tournament that's exactly what you get to do.

Rebuy tournaments bring out the maniacs in Texas Holdem poker. Players will play these tournaments extremely loose during the rebuy periods because they have the insurance policy of being able to purchase more poker chips should they lose their stacks with aggressive play.

If you want to win a rebuy tournament you must be aggressive. Some experts believe you should go all-in with any type of advantage or in any situation in which you might be able to double or triple up. It is always worth taking coin flips in a rebuy tournament. It is also worth taking all-in shots if you have a reasonable chance of doubling or even tripling your stack. Some players call this type of play crazy, but in a rebuy tournament it is wise

Some tournaments have unlimited rebuys, some have a fixed number and most give you one last chance to buy more chips at the end of the rebuy period no matter how many chips you have via an add-on. The first add-on is available during the first break and will be available to all players, regardless of their chip count.

The prize pool distribution for rebuy and add-on tournaments will not be calculated until both the rebuy and add-on period has ended. Only the total prize pool figure will be displayed until the add-on period is over.

If a player is eliminated from the tournament at a rank that has a prize associated with it, even though the prize pool is not published, then the rebuy and add-on period will be closed. The prize pool will be published and the eliminated player will be paid his prize money.

If a tournament crashes during the add-on period, the exact count of total chips in the tournament at the time of crash (including the chips added into the tournament as a result of rebuy and add-on requests) will be used to distribute the balance of the prize pool money.
